Snoring is the sound of partially obstructed breathing during sleep. While snoring can be harmless other than being bothersome to your sleep partner, it can also be a sign of a more serious medical condition called Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).
Dr. Patwa in conjunction with a sleep physician, can help treat and manage sleep disorders with an oral device. This device is custom made out of a soft acryic and worn at night and is very effective in treating snoring and mild to moderate cases of sleep apnea. It is both comfortable and portable for travel.
Today, Dr. Patwa works with a company that allows sleep apnea diagnoses with a home sleep study as opposed to going to a hospital based sleep center where you spend the night in a hospital. Today, this can be accomplished in your own home and bed.
If you do have sleep apnea, your medical insurance (Medicare as well) will cover the costs involved as this is a seriouys health issue. Contact us for more information.
